Curveball.

well, the missions team has arrived in baifu, near wudu, in jilong, as of yesterday afternoon. this week will be a trying one to say the least. there are several changes last minute / unknown to the team. instead of the 6 hours of class we usually are alloted, we will only have 3 hours a day at wudu elementary. the school is undergoing massive renovations, therefore the limit on the time and space we have. so we will have 3 hours in the morning teaching at the elementary school and 3 hours in the afternoon at the local baifu church teaching students from elementary to adult ages.

the morning at wudu will consist of 5 classes, with roughly 20-22 students per class. bernard & karen, josh & elean, jacqueline & marissa, chris & esther, and shing & si will teach the 5 classes there, with deacon katy in the administrative role and floating teacher. me [norman] and pastor josh will be teaching a 6th class, but at hua xing elementary. we will have to commute to the school via car/scooter/bus everyday. unlike the classes at wudu, which are separated by age and grade, the class at hua xing is mixed. pastor josh and i will be teaching a class of roughly 30 students ranging from 2nd grade to 6th grade.

the afternoon class at church will be taught by all 13 members of the missions team. there rumored to be over 40 students registered, with more and more students registering everyday. the night will consist of pastor josh leading bible studies on the book of joshua and house visitations for the students of the summer camp.

one great thing about baifu, is the abundance of youth willing to serve with us this week. every time we come back to baifu, we see that the youth group has doubled in size, which is a great blessing! we are extremely grateful for the encouragement we get from the church members of baifu church.

please pray for our team as this week we will have to be VERY flexible in our teaching styles and activities to accommodate for differing ages, time changes, and space changes. our course curriculum we prepared, along with every craft, song, and game times will have to be adjusted. unlike last week, everything this week seems up in the air and we must be able to meet the challenge. so please, pray for us! thanks.
